Earlier this week I let you in on my little secret. I haven't been doing much in terms of exercise since the beginning of October. Sure I walked a lot on our vacation and I played a lot in the park with the kids before and after our trip and then there's our Mainely Running class on Tuesday mornings, but that's about it. Aside from that I've given myself a bit of a break. I've enjoyed the pressure being off, but I haven't enjoyed the pounds I've put on.
So....
Because I understand how easy it is to get sidetracked. Because I understand how easy it is to lose motivation. I offer up this challenge ~ just in time for the holidays. Think of it as a gift to a healthier and more fabulous you.

The challenge is a fitness/weight loss challenge based on the honor system and measured by total percentage of weight lost. I realize that focusing on weight is not for everyone and that focusing on overall health and wellness is preferable, but I also realize that I'm 10 pounds heavier than I was last January and I don't like how that feels at all.So, if you can identify with this and if you need a little extra motivation and accountability this just may be the challenge for you.
Here's how it works:
- Starting on Monday, the 14th, I (along with several others who have already decided to participate) plan to weigh in every Monday for the next 16 weeks. That will bring us into March and only 3 months from my 40th birthday (my motivation intensifies ~ YIKES!). Once the 16 weeks is up we can keep right on going into another 16 week cycle. Then we'll be into July. My how time flies!
- We'll track our weight loss as the total percentage of body weight lost and those who need the added accountability can post their progress on this site every Monday. I'm still undecided about whether or not I'll out myself entirely. No one needs to know your weight just the percentage of weight lost from week to week unless you're so inclined to share all of the gory details. Remember we're operating on the honor system here.
- We'll have to come up with an incentive for the winner. Let us know if you have any ideas.
