You can help too...

The heartbreaking events that took place in Connecticut on Friday have been in our thoughts all weekend.  As moms of kindergarteners and 1st graders, the tragedy really hit home with us.  We want to do something to help, but what can we possibly do?

While nothing can bring back those precious lives or heal the hurt of the horrible losses, we as runners can do something to support those families and the community that suffered such tragedy.  We would like to encourage you to participate in a Virtual 5k (or Virtual run/walk of any distance) to help support the victims' families.  We aren't charging an entry fee and we don't have finishers medals or huge prizes but we ask that you consider making a donation to one of the funds that have been set up to help support the victims' families.

How does a virtual run/walk work?  You map out your own course (we love MapMyRun.com), head out any time this week and complete your race!  Once you've finished, make sure to let us know and submit your time here. We'll have a random drawing next Monday for some small prizes to thank you for your efforts.  Thanks for helping!
