About Us

Jen, Christine and Amy crossing the finish line together!

We are 3 friends who, despite no previous running experience, decided one day to start running together and have been able to accomplish things we never thought feasible! We've learned that you don't have to be an experienced or fast runner to finish races, and that the feeling you get crossing that finish line is like no other.  The only way it is made better is to be able to share it with friends. We feel that we've been so fortunate to have each other's support and encouragement in our running journey and hope to be able to pay it forward, and help others achieve their running goals.  We know you can do it!

Here's a little more about each of us:

My name is Amy and if you told me 5 years ago that I'd be running marathons, I'd have turned around and looked behind me, because there was no way that you could have been talking about me!  I've always been fairly active but athletic is not a term anyone (including myself!) would ever use to describe me. (Seriously, in high school, I probably could have swum a mile faster than running it. And trust me, I'm no great swimmer!)  But, with the motivation and support of Christine and Jen, I did it and realized that a marathon is not something reserved only for the uber-athletic.  I feel like I am living proof that anyone can run a marathon if they really want to!  When I'm not running with the girls or chasing around my 2 wildly active little boys, ages 6 and 4 (who REALLY keep me moving ),  you can usually find me with a book, camera or cup of coffee in my hand.

My name is Christine and if you asked me 5 years ago if I wanted to register for a race let alone go for a run I absolutely would have started laughing (so would my husband if he overheard the exchange). I was never athletic and my parents and husband will attest to that. I can clean and organize with the best of them, but run? Not so much. That is until I became one of The Sporty Moms as we were dubbed by parents of our preschoolers' classmates only 3 years ago. Now I can go the distance without hesitation and if I can do it ~ You can do it! I've been married for almost 12 years to a man I've been friends with since we were 11 and we have 2 children. I am a reformed career woman who somewhat reluctantly became a stay-at-home mom and now wouldn't have it any other way.

My name is Jennifer.  For most of my young adult life I always tried to stay active - whether it be playing tennis, scuba diving or rock climbing.  Then I had children, and struggled to find time for laundry, let alone engaging in any form of exercise.  I never really hit my groove until I took up running 3 years ago.  I now balance my love for running (or more importantly, love for my running mates) with parenting 2 children and volunteer work.  My husband, whose known me since argyle sweaters and knee socks, is my biggest motivator.
